    October 28, 2016
"John is a true team player. He is the one who in training works extremely is a hard and pushes his team mates to get to the high bar. Johnny worked hard in the off season and when he came into training camp you could tell he wanted to be here and wanted to excel. He coined the phrase after a training session one day in regards to the Vikings "Dread the Red". It became something that was carried over to every training session. He is very deserving of the honour that he has received this year and I know it is going to be tough to replace him. He is a leader without being a Captain."
  • Snowy Double Header Match up in Fort McMurray
    October 19, 2016
This past weekend, the Augustana Vikings men’s and women’s soccer teams travelled to ice cold Fort McMurray for a double header match up against the Keyano Huskies. On Saturday night on the frozen turf, the women braved the cold and cruised to a 3 – 0 victory on first half goals by Angela Tan and Lauren Feth and a second half goal by Lauren Lutz. When the men kicked off shortly after 6pm, the temperature gauges were reading -3 with a wind chill of -7. The game was very competitive but ended in a 1 – 0 victory for the nationally ranked Huskies. The Vikings enjoyed stand out performances all over the field while putting in what the coaches called the best team performance of the season.
