As the fall season approaches, the University of Alberta - Augustana Men's Basketball team is gearing up for an exciting showdown on home court against the Lakeland Rustlers. The team's home opener is set for October 25th at the Augustana Gymnasium following the Women’s game.

After a hard-working season, the Vikings finished the year with a 7-13 record in league play. With only four graduates, look for this team to be in the playoff hunt this season with returning centre Jack Smilski leading the charge. 

Team captain Ryan Degner and centre Jack Smilski were both named to the ACAC All-Conference 2nd team last season. Degner finished the season averaging 13.8 points per game while Smilski led the ACAC in rebounding averaging 13.6 rebounds per game. 

The Vikings welcome a new addition to the team, head coach Etienne Jacquet who will be entering his first year as an ACAC coach.
