As the fall campaign approaches, The University of Alberta - Augustana Women’s Basketball team begins preparations for an epic showdown on home court against the reigning National Champions, Lakeland Rustlers. The team's home opener will take place on October 25th at the Augustana Gymnasium. 

After battling the injury bug all season long, the Vikings season came to a close after a playoff game loss to the Keyano Huskies, ending the season with an 8-12 record in league play. 

Team MVP Mackenzie Mrazik put together another great year earning ACAC All Conference honours. Mrazik ended the year averaging 16.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. For the second year in a row veteran Tayah Fiveland was named to the 2nd ACAC All Conference team. Fiveland averaged 10.8 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game. With the departure of five key players, the Vikes look to Mrazik to lead the team this season with high expectations. 

The Vikings are joined by previous assistant coach and Vikings all-conference alumni, Lauren Cardinal, as their new head coach for the season.
