Camrose, AB - In a tight match-up, the University of Alberta- Augustana Vikings needed just a single goal to nab 3-points over the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, Sunday afternoon at Augustana Feild.
With the win, the Vikings slide into fourth place in the ACAC south division standings, just one point back of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks. Meanwhile, the Rattlers remain winless with a 0-5-0 record.
One goal by Rowan Corry, assisted by Kristy Hurnadez scored in the 78th minute was all the Vikings needed to make a difference. However, the task was difficult with Rattler's goaltender, Allyssa Heidel making eight saves.
Looking ahead, the Vikings will travel south to SAIT on Saturday for a noon kick-off before returning to Augustana Feild on October 2nd against Olds College at 1 PM. The Rattlers will search for their first win on Friday when they take on the Kodiaks.
