Hoping to build off their successful conference season, the No. 4 Vikings will travel to Lethbridge College for the 2024 Women's Volleyball Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference Championship from February 22-25th.

Opening the championship on Thursday at 1:00 pm MST, the Vikings will take on the south's third-place team, Briercrest Clippers at the Val Matteotti Gym. The two teams met only once this season, with the Vikings taking the win on home court, 3-1 (25-16, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17).

The Vikings had their highest-ever finish last season as they claimed their first ACAC medal in team history with a silver medal. Meanwhile, the Clippers earned gold in 2020 but lost their opening match to the Rustlers at last year's championship. The last time both teams met at the championship was back in 2018.

Having an impressive start to the 2024 calendar year, the Vikings will ride a nine-game winning streak into the championship, having yet to drop a conference game in 2024. The team finished second in the north with a 16-3 record behind the reigning ACAC Champions, Lakeland Rustlers with an 18-1 record. The No. 1 Rustlers sole loss came at a cost to No. 9 The King's Eagles, while the Vikings swept their season series with the eagle in February to jump from 14th to 4th in national rankings and pushing the Eagles from 5th to 9th.

The team has been led by a pack of veterans, including Share Boyes, Emily Peterson, and Addi Wolosuk who lead the team in kills, while Boyes leads the conference in kills and aces. Rookie Taryn Watson has also made a name for herself with 113 kills in 16 matches. Meanwhile, third-year Kari White will be valuable in setting up the offence with her conference-leading 604 assists.

The Vikings will be looking to cement their names in the ACAC record books as they start their journey to gold on Thursday at 1:00 pm MST. Catch all the action on ACACTV.
