Vikings will tip off on October 14th in a sole weekend season opener

Adding to a busy weekend full of Vikings home action, the Vikings Men's and Women's Basketball teams will tip off their season on October 14th at home in a loan match-up against the Lethbridge Kodiaks.

VIKINGS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SEASON SCHEDULE

The one-game week will sure be a spotlight match-up as the women will see a match-up of the 2023 ACAC Championship Quarterfinal, while the men will take on one of the strongest competitors in the south.

Both teams will be looking to get off to a hot start carrying into week two of action when they travel north to take on the Keyno Huskies just one week later. 

The men will be looking to improve past on their 2023 finish when they were knocked out of championship contention in the play-in game, while the women will be looking to earn their program's first ACAC gold medal after finishing with a silver in March.

This year the 2023 ACAC Basketball Championships will be based on merit with the team earning the chance to host based on success over the course of the season and championship play-in games. The highest remaining seed following the play-in games in the north with host the men's Final Four, while the south will host the women.

Lakeland Rustlers will play host to the 2024 CCAA Women's Basketball Championship in Lloydminster, Alberta from March 13-16, 2024 and the qualifying men will head east to New Brunswick for the 2024 CCAA Men's Basketball National Championship that same weekend, hosted by Mount Allison University.
