Augustana Vikings Curling excited to be back on the Ice

The Augustana Curling Team has transitioned out of a successful dry land training season to on-ice practices. The first on-ice practice was October 18 and was followed by their first Community League games.

This year Augustana has three complete teams, which include a Women's Team, a Men's Team, and a Mixed Team. All curlers are excited to get back to playing and competing with the first ACAC competition coming soon. Fall Regionals are slated for November 25-27 and will be hosted by Red Deer College at the Pidherney Curling Centre. Winter Regionals will follow in the Winter Term from January 27-29, hosted by NAIT at the Avonair Curling Club and the ACAC Curling Championship, hosted by Lakeland College in the Vermilion Curling Club, will go February 24-26. The Augustana Vikings are proud to be hosting the CCAA National Championship March 22-25th here in Camrose at the Rose City Curling Club.

On October 15th and 16th curlers completed a Coaching Clinic to receive their Club Coaching Certificate in preparation for teaching in the Camrose Academy of Curling and the Little Rockers Programs. Augustana curlers have volunteered to teach both age groups of kids throughout the season.

Everyone is excited for a season of volunteering, learning, competing and success!
