CAMROSE, Alta - The Augustana Vikings men's basketball team came up clutch again in the fourth quarter on Friday night at the Augustana Gymnasium with a 80-67 victory over the visiting King's University Eagles.

In what could be considered a "scrambly" game between the two teams, there was no shortage of entertainment as the game began with the Vikings taking an early lead out of the gate, however the Eagles managed to fight back to narrow the gap to 23-20 by the end of the first quarter. King's were led by Brock Stupar on the night with tough defense and a good night of numbers with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Stupar and the Eagles only trailed by two points at the end of the first half.

The Vikings who now have won two in a row, were having a hard time finding their rhythm throughout the night when veterans Ryan Degner and Jack Smilski showed their experience leading the Vikings in the second half. Degner ended the night with a game high 24 points to go with six rebounds and three assists. Smilski is proving to be one of the top end "bigs" in the ACAC with a double double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Smilski also added two timely late blocks to hault the Eagles opportunities.

The Vikings will look for their first winning streak of the season tomorrow night and climb to a record of 4-10 on the season, the Eagles now fall to 0-13. The rematch will go Saturday evening at the King's University Campus.
