Vikings fall to visiting Briercrest

CAMROSE, AB - Getting an important two points on the road, Briercrest College Clippers took down the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings 5-2, Friday night at Encana Arena.

The win moves the Clippers just two points back of the Vikings for third place in the standings and marks the fourth straight win for the Clippers. Meanwhile, the Vikings find their three-game streak come to an end.

Leading to way to victory was Alex Pellerin with three points on the night including one goal, while Trey Doell, Jacob Arsenault, Josh Wiens and Caleb Grandfield all added a tally. Dom Tmej had 22 saves in the win.

Meanwhile, the Viking's success came from leaders Tavis Roch and Owen Lamb who each had a goal, while Daniel Moody had 25 saves.

Lamb opened the scoring midway through the opening frame on the powerplay, but that goal would only stand as the difference maker for less than six minutes as Wiens tied the game at one apiece after one period of play.

The team would trade a goal each to start the second frame before the Clippers found their edge to score three unanswered with Pellerin's goal being the difference maker.
