Vikings draw even with Trojans

CAMROSE, AB - Calling it even, the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings and the SAIT Trojans end their match-up in a 3-3 draw, Friday night at Encana Arena.

The tie splits the two points that were up for grabs on the night, keeping the Trojans steady in second place in the standings, while the Vikings now trail the NAIT Ooks and sit in fourth place.

The home side found goals from Jack Hamly, Jacob Charko, and the game-tying goal from Quintin Sudom. Daniel Moody had 23 saves.

Across the ice, Zach Cox, Mackenzie Welke, and Tye Carriere netted goals for the Trojans, while Boston Bilous had an impressive 42 saves in the draw.

With the game on the line and a valuable two points, it seemed as though the Trojans found the game-winning goal after two minutes of overtime. However, Dylan Clark's goal would be called off after it was deemed by officials that Chase Miller interfered with Moody in front of the net.

After a full additional 10 minutes of play, the buzzer would ring with the game ending in a 3-3 tie.

Looking to claim two points tomorrow, both teams will meet again in Calgary as the Trojans host the final game between these two teams at 7:30 pm.
