Vikings sweep the weekend with overtime win

CAMROSE, AB - Needing extra time, the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings took down the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder 3-2 in overtime, Saturday night at Encana Arena.

The win allows the Vikings to sweep the weekend series after a 7-4 win the night before and they also bypass the NAIT Ooks for third place in the standings. Meanwhile, the Thunder remains in the final playoff spot in sixth.

The Viking's success came from Kyle Ford with the game-winner and one assist, while Conrad Phillips and Austin Kozluk also added tallies. Daniel Moody had 20 saves in the win.

Across the ice, the Thunder has goals from Zachery Carlson and Keegan Tinnger, Griffin Bowerman had 23 saves.

The Vikings will close out their regular season next weekend when they take on the NAIT Ooks in what will determine their spot in the standings, while the Thunder will take on the RDP Kings.
