Clippers get the best of the Vikings in wild match-up

CAMROSE, AB - In a game that resulted in a novel worth of penalties, the Briercrest Clippers took down the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings 7-2, Friday night at Encana Arena.

The win gives the Clippers sole possession of first place in the league with the Vikings trailing just behind them in second place.

The visiting side found success in the back of the net from Reagan Pancelet who racked up two goals and three assists on the night, while teammate Jacob Arsenault and Jake Dale each added another two for the Clippers with Cole Stevenson adding one of his own. Dominik Tmej made 33 saves in the win.

Across the ice, Lane Kirk put the first goal on the board just 20 seconds into the game with Jacob Biensch adding the second. Rett Rook made seven saves in relief of keeping Daniel Moody who had 15 saves on the night.

Both teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon at 2pm at Encana arena for the second game of their weekend series.
