CAMROSE, Alta. - The Augustana Vikings men's hockey team enjoyed an evening with their offense clicking against the Portage Voyageurs Friday night. The Vikings would end the evening skating away with a 7-1 win at the Encana Arena.

Jumping out of the gate Augustana managed to score four goals in the first period as Owen Lamb, Tavis Roch, Jaxon Georget, and Jack Hamly all managed to find twine. Meanwhile Xavier Halterman responded for the Voyageurs as well in the first period, however this would be the only goal Portage would see for the rest of the evening. The Vikings would have seven separate goal scorers on the night as Jake Gudjonson, Jacob Biensch and Leyton Smith would each add a goal for Augustana.

Voyageurs goaltender Jake Manners would have a busy night in the crease turning aside 44 of 51 Vikings shots. Daniel Moody was solid in net for Augustana stopping 20 of 21 Portage attemps. The rematch goes tomorrow night in Lac La Biche with puck drop at 7pm. This will be the last game of the season for the Portage Voyageurs who find themselves outside of a playoff position. The Vikings will look forward to another rivalry playoff match up with the Sait Trojans. All of the action can be found on ACACTV and Telus Optik.
