Following a thrilling quarterfinal series against the SAIT Trojans that ended in a Game 3 victory, the Vikings will again hit the ice for Semifinal action as they take on the RDP Kings in a best-of-three series for a chance to advance to the final.

The Vikings and Kings will battle it out in another tale as old as time starting on Friday night in Red Deer:

  • Game 1 - UAA at RDP - Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre - 7PM MST

  • Game 2 - RDP at UAA - Encana Arena - 6PM MST

  • Game 3 (if necessary) - Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre - 7PM MST

The Kings received a bye past the Quarterfinal round along with the Briercrest Clippers after finishing second and first, respectively following the completion of conference play. Meanwhile, the Vikings battled it out in three games with the Trojans coming out on top for a 2-1 series win thanks to late-game heroics from Jack Hamly whose two goals in less than two minutes paved the way for the eventual overtime winner from Jake Gudjonson.

Facing off four times during the regular season, the two teams shared their wins as the Vikings walked away with the weekend sweep to start the season in October, while the Kings took the series in January to start the New Year, including an 8-7 overtime win.

With ten players tallying goals in the season against the Kings, Manz led the Vikings through those four games with four goals and one assist, while Jack Hamly led the Vikings through their first three playoff games with four goals and two assists so far.

The winner of this semifinal will advance to the best-of-five 2024 ACAC Men’s Hockey Championship and will face the winner of the Briercrest Clippers and Concordia Thunders series.
