I am from Wetaskiwin Alberta, Canada and I am currently taking my Bachelor of Arts. My future plans are to play varsity soccer and possibly varsity hockey when I am older. I have been enrolled in playing competitive sports ever since I was six years old when I started playing hockey. Ever since then I have played in the top league of my level as I have played AAA hockey since I was in bantam. This past year at our awards banquet, I was awarded with the unsung hero award. My goals in this upcoming year are to make the Augustana Vikings soccer team and to also achieve and keep up a high average in my studies. During my free time away from the classroom I enjoy staying active by either enjoying a nice day on the water at our cabin, playing a relaxing game of golf or even taking my dog out for a walk. I do not have a favourite food, but if I had to choose one, I would pick pasta, as it is the usual pre-game meal of my choice with a side of oatmeal. My favourite quote is from Wayne Gretzky, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take". My family owns and runs Dyck Insurance, an insurance brokerage company with offices in Wetaskiwin, Thorsby and Calmar. What brought me to Augustana would be the small campus and small classroom sizes where everyone is able to actually meet and know their professor on a more personal level. I decided to become an Augustana Viking as I have always dreamed to play for a varsity school team. I have a passion for playing sports and being competitive, as well as I always strive to do my best and finish hard in everything I do.
