Aitken recognized as ACAC All-Conference Goalkeeper

Medicine Hat, Alberta - The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference wass pleased to announce the North and South Men's Soccer All-Conference teams for 2016-17 as selected by the ACAC Men's Soccer Coaches.

Head Coach, Tom McManus had the following to say about John Aitken and his performance this season:

"John is a true team player. He is the one who in training works extremely is a hard and pushes his team mates to get to the high bar. He is funny in the dressing room but also very serious. He knows when to joke around but also when to take things seriously. He is an excellent goalkeeper. He is without a doubt one of the best shot stoppers that I have ever worked with. His hands are excellent and is always willing to get into a crowd in order to get his hands on the ball. His timing for crosses is superb and is very strong in distribution. He sets up a quick transition with a quality ball knocked up to our deep player. Johnny worked hard in the off season and when he came into training camp you could tell he wanted to be here and wanted to excel. He coined the phrase after a training session one day in regards to the Vikings "Dread the Red". It became something that was carried over to every training session. He is very deserving of the honour that he has received this year and I know it is going to be tough to replace him. He is a leader without being a Captain."
