CAMROSE, Alta. - The King's Eagles men's volleyball team made the trip down highway 21 to Augustana Campus for a Saturday evening matchup with the Augustana Vikings. With the Eagles currently in a dog fight in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference North division and the Vikings searching for their first victory of the year, the eagles managed to take the matchup in straight sets.

Both teams gave the Augustana faithful all they could handle in the first set with the Eagles edging the Vikings 26-24. The Eagles Kaiden Aceron lived up to all expectation leading the charge on offense, Aceron was fantastic all evening long showing why he sits in the top five in kills and kills per set in the ACAC. Not to be outdone Vikings Boris Kuljanin continued his impressive play in the New Year and was the catalyst for Augustana in efforts to keep pace with the high flying Eagles.

Momentum was on the Eagles side after the first set, making quick work of the Vikings by a score of 25-17 to take a commanding two to nothing lead in the match. Despite a good third set from the Vikings, Aceron and the Eagles proved to be too much on the night as they would finish the match in the third set and complete the sweep of the Vikings.

Augustana will look to find their first win of the year February 2nd as they travel to Edmonton to take on the Concordia Thunder. The Eagles will have a weekend match up with the Nait Ooks in what will be a matchup with major playoff implications, the teams face off Friday evening at the Nait gymnasium at 8pm February 2nd.
