The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Tobore Okome of the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus has been selected as the 2018-19 ACAC Women's Basketball North Rookie of the Year.

Tobore is an athletic small forward with a wicked first step and some highly creative finishes around the rim. She brings great energy off the bench along with a lot of offensive prowess and finesse. Averaging 7.7 points per game and shooting a staggering 57.5% from the floor, Tobore also works hard on the boards with 3.5 defensive rebounds and 2 offensive rebounds per game in her 16.5 minutes.

"Tobore is a very gifted and hard-working athlete. She loves to battle physically and has a 6'2 personality on the court. Apart from being the type of player who is hungry to improve, she is very hard working in the classroom and happy to lend anyone a helping hand when needed. It's truly impossible not to smile watching her passion for everything she does."

Tobore is from Edmonton, Alberta, and in her first year of her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology and minor in Psychology.

This prestigious award was presented to Tobore Okome at the 2018 ACAC Women's Basketball Championship Ceremony held on February 27 at Keyano College.
