The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Robyn Fleckenstein of the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings has been named the ACAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.

In just two years at the helm of the University of Alberta – Augustana Vikings, Fleckenstein has distinguished herself as being a hard-working and dedicated coach.  She works tirelessly for the betterment of her student-athletes and the Vikings Basketball program. After narrowly missing the playoffs in the 2017-18 season, Vikings Women's Basketball improved their record to 15 and 9 under Fleckenstein in a short period of time.

Says Augustana's Director of Athletics & Recreation, Greg Ryan, "she is a strong role model and advocates for her players both on and off the court. The significant improvement in the program during her brief tenure is a testament to the culture and standard she has established at Augustana." With several All-Conference players and a league Rookie of the Year selection coming from the Vikings this season, Ryan adds, "Robyn's commitment to strong recruiting has built a strong foundation for a fast moving program."

Fleckenstein received the award on February 27, 2019 at the ACAC Women's Basketball Conference Championship Banquet held in Fort McMurray, AB and hosted by Keyano College.
