Vikings take a win in their final regular season game

CAMROSE, AB - Making no mistake, the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings took down the Briercrest College Clippers 91-84, Saturday night at Augustana Gym.

The game wraps up both team seasons with the Vikings finishing the season with a 13-7 season record, good enough for second place in the north division and will advance directly to the ACAC Women's Basketball Championship. 

Meanwhile, the Clippers end with a 13-8 record to finish fourth in the south and will play the Olds College Broncos in a championship play-in game next weekend.

Leading the Viking once again, Tayah Fiveland end the game with 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Teammate Elli Cailliau capped her night off with 19 points.

Across the court, the Clippers were led by Melissa Ellis with 23 points and Amber Fichtner who ended the night with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Falling behind early after the opening ten minutes, 22-10, the Vikings battled back to win the remaining three quarters and take the ultimate win, 91-84.

The Vikings will have a weekend to rest up as they prepare to head south to Lethbridge for the ACAC Championship from March 2-4, while the Clippers will host the Broncos in a win-or-go-home match next weekend.
