Vikings start the season hot

CAMROSE, AB - In their season opener the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings came out firing as they down the visiting Ambrose University Lions 7-0 to open the season Saturday afternoon at Augustana Feild.

With the win, the Vikings claim their first win of the season and improve to 1-0 on the season. Across the field, the Lions will have to continue to wait for their first win, dropping to 0-2, after a season-opening loss to the Lethbridge College Kodiaks on Friday night.

Six different goal scorers added their names to the board, while eight rostered athletes for the Vikings tallied a point. Leading the way with two goals and a single assist was midfielder Hanna Boyce.

The Vikings will take to the field for their second game of their opening weekend, tomorrow afternoon agist the RDP Queens with a kick-off set for 1:00 PM at Augustana Feild. Meanwhile, the Lions will wait to bounce back in a second chance against the Vikings on September 16th at SAIT Feild for a 5:00 PM kick-off.
