Vikings give up three in the second to fall to Broncos

Camrose, AB - In a lopsided second half, the University of Alberta Vikings gave up three goals, eventually falling to the Olds College Broncos 4-1, Sunday afternoon at Augustana Feild.

With the win, the Broncos jump over the Vikings in the ACAC South Division to take fourth place, with the Vikings now sitting one point back.

Leading with a brace, Tiona Paton scored twice in the second, while also having her foot in the Bronco's other two goals, adding two assists to her tally. Naomi Rowe opened the scoring, while Mirtalem Vriend added their fourth goal. Across the field, Kristy Hernandez had the Viking's lone goal.

Opening the scoring in the 19th minute, Rowe's lone first-half goal was all the Broncos needed to gain enough momentum heading into halftime.

Following the short break in gameplay, Paton scored her first of the afternoon in the 47th minute before adding goal number two 21 minutes later. Vriend joined the party in the 78th minute, while Hernandez added a late tally for the Vikings in the 81st minute. However, it would be too late, with the visitors claiming the win.

Looking ahead, the Vikings will take on the division leaders, RDP Queens on October 8th at RDP Feild, while the Broncos Medicine Hat College and Lethbridge College at home on October 8th and 9th, respectively.
