Vikings lose to close out season

CAMROSE, AB - Capping off their regular season, the SAIT Trojans, down the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings 7-0, Sunday afternoon at Augustana Feild.

The Vikings failed to advance to the postseason. At the same time, the Trojans will compete in a playoff game to attempt to advance to the ACAC Championship, hosted by the Lethbridge College Kodiaks, and will take on the fourth-placed Olds College Broncos.

With five goal scores on the afternoon, including Grayce Herrera, Alyssa MacPhail, and Sydni Clement, it was two players with a brace that really made the difference as Amy Fallows had two goals and two assists, while Nikki Charlton has two goals and one assist.

Trojan goalie, Erin Mergen made all four saves she faced, while Viking's netminder Kristi Bignell made 12 saves with 19 shots faced.

While the Vikings see their season end, the Trojans will wait to hear when they will take on the Broncos in their play-in game for a spot in the ACAC Championship this Tuesday.
