Vikings out shoot and out score the Lions for first win of the season

CAMROSE, AB - Opening the season with a hot win, the Vikings begin the season with a commanding 3-0 win over the visiting Ambrose Lions, on Saturday afternoon at Augustana Field.

Vetren Sydnee Dallyn had the hot foot with one goal and two assists, while sophomores Vanessa Tollefson and Kadie Johnson each netted one. Keeper Sofia Ovcharenko had two saves on the day.

Across the field, keeper Joy Watson kept the work rate high with seven saves.

The win give started the red, black and white off on the right foot going 1-0-0 on the season, while the Lions fell to 0-1-0.

The Vikings not only won on the scoreboard but outshot the Lions 10 to two and created eight corner kicks in the win.

Next up, the Vikings will be looking to keep the momentum tomorrow when they host the SAIT Trojans at 4pm, while the Lions will have to wait until next Saturday for their first chance at a win against the Medicine Hat Rattlers.
