Vikings sweep the season series in straight sets

CAMROSE, AB - Sweeping the weekend series, the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings defeated the Northwestern Polytechnic 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-21), Saturday afternoon at Augustana Gym.

The win ties the Vikings for third place in the north with the Keyano College Huskies with just two games remaining in the regular season and guarantees them to have home-court advantage during the ACAC Championship play in game two weeks from now.

On the other hand, the Wolves sit in last place in the north and will not qualify for playoffs with only one game remaining this season.

Dj Molle lead the Vikings in kills with 13, while also adding two aces and seven blocks. Emily Peterson and Addi Wolososuk were also solid in the win as both had nine kills.

Across the court, the Wolves found success from Katie Nashim for the second game in a row as she had 10 kills and one ace in the loss.

Next up, the Vikings will finish off the regular season next weekend with two games at home, on Friday they will take on the Lethbridge Collge Kodiaks at 6pm before hosting Ambrose University Lions on Saturday night when they will honour their graduating players. The Wolves will end their season next Saturday at Red Deer Polytechnic Queens with game time starting at 1pm.
