Vikings cruise to their third straight win

CAMROSE, AB - Making quick work at home, the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings took down the Lethbridge College Kodiaks 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21), Friday night at Augustana Gym.

The win extends the Viking's win streak to three games with only one match remaining in the season, with the team still tied for third in the north with the Keyano College Huskies. 

Meanwhile, the Kodiaks see their three-game win streak snapped in their final match of the season leading into playoffs. The Kodiaks currently sit in third place in the south with 20 points and will await the results of the Briercrest Clippers finals two matches to see where they will end up. However, they will advance to one of the south division's playoff games to determine the remaining spots at the ACAC Championship hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic Queens.

Sarah Dedrick had 22 assists, two aces and one dig for the Vikings, while her teammate Emily Peterson had eight kills, with Addi Wolosuk going fro six kills on 13 attempts for a kill percentage of .462.

Across the court, Jamie Brown had nine kills, with Mack Lewicki having four kills, 11 digs and one block.

Tomorrow night the Vikings will take on the souths first place team, the Ambrose Lions to end the regular season at 6pm when they will also honour their graduating student-athletes.
