CAMROSE, Alta. - The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team managed to remain perfect in the New Year on Saturday night at Augustana Gymnasium. In front of a great crowd the Vikings managed to fend off a talented King's Eagles team who the Vikings have been chasing in the ACAC North Conference all season long.

With the victory the Vikings record jumps to 13-3 on the season while the Eagles fall to 12-3 with both teams vying for the second seed to enter the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference championship tournament. The match featured two of the ACAC's most dominant hitters with Augustana's Shae Boyes and Eagles Brooke Risselada exchanging points all evening, both would end the evening with 17 kills for their respective teams.

Keeping true to with their teams in the past, the Eagles defense was fantastic all evening long with libero Lauryn Draker leading the charge and collecting 8 digs on the night, her efforts would be recognized as the Eagles player of the game.

The Vikings will look to further success next weekend with a home and home matchup with the Concordia Thunder. Meanwhile the Eagles will look to get back to their winning ways in a weekend series with cross town rivals the Nait Ooks.
