The veteran continues to write her name in history, becoming the all-time Vikings leader in kills and aces with plenty of game left to play.

Not even halfway into her fifth season with the Vikings, Shae Boyes became the Vikings Women's Volleyball all-time leader in kills on November 11th before following it up with entering the top five in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) in service aces this past weekend.

In just eight matches this season, the 5'7" outside hitter has a career-best kill percentage of .419, while having 127 kills and is on track to have a career-high in services aces with 24 so far this year. Boyes currently leads the ACAC in kills, kills per set (4.34), and aces per set (0.83).

"Shae continues to get better and stronger each season, with her success being a testament to her work ethic," says head coach Steve Enright. "She has led our program in every area both on and off the court, while her attacking and serving are at such as high level making her one of the greats in this league."

Through 84 games and 299 sets played, Boyes has racked up some impressive stats both offensively and defensively. To date, she has 883 kills, 708 digs, and 167 aces. Her aces have her positioned to enter the top three all-time ACAC leaders needing just two to tie former Medicine Hat College Rattler Tonya Revering with 169.

Currently, she holds the Vikings Women's Volleyball individual records for kills, service aces and digs, surpassing the previous record holder Rae Metrunec (2015-20) in kills(836) and aces (137) and Jennifer Kaskosky (2013-17) in digs (617).

With 11 games remaining on the 2023-24 schedule, Boyes is poised to achieve even greater heights before her post-secondary career draws to a close.
