Adding to the Vikings successful season so far, middle Emily Peterson and outside hitter Shae Boyes added 2023-24 ACAC Women’s Volleyball North All-Conference Team titles to their resumes.

The veterans, both played pivotal roles in the Vikings season as Boyes put on the red, white and black in all 19 matches, well Peterson duwned the Vikings colours in 18 matches. This is Peterson’s first All-Confernce award, well Boyes is picking up her third consecutive honour.

Moving to the middle this season, the former outside hitter adjusted with little to no hesitation and capped off the conference season with 148 kills and 16 aces. Peterson’s hitting percentage was a standout as second-best in the league at a nearly 40% success rate of .398. With that, the force was felt at the net with an impressive 41 solo blocks, second in the conference.

In addition to hitting her personal career milestones this season, Boyes’ efforts made her the conference leader in kills with 287 and aces with 62. For a total of 370 points on the year, Boyes put tallies on the board 26 more times than her next closest competitor.

Both Peterson and Boyes will take to the court in game one of the 2024 ACAC Women’s Volleyball Championship on Thursday, February 22 at 1:00pm MST in Lethbridge. Catch all the action on ACAC TV.
