Lorraine Bangalisan
Year: 3

Lorraine Bangalisan is a 3rd year Physical Education major from Edmonton, Alberta. Her degree is concentrating on Kinesiology and Sport Studies and eventually wants a career in a health related field in which she is able to help people. She is especially interested in incorporating physical activity or educating individuals about physical activity and fitness.

She would most like to meet Ellen Degeneres because Lorraine aspires to be as humble, caring, enthusiastic about life, and selfless as she is.

Her biggest influence as an athlete is Misty Copeland. As a former dancer, Lorraine admires her grace and movement qualities as well as her work a field [ballet] in which it can be hard to gain recognition. This season Lorraine’s goal is to challenge herself past just running recreationally, increase her VO2 max, and gain a little bit more knowledge about running and improving her times and endurance. Her most memorable sports moment was her last year-end dance collective in high school. After countless dance performances and dance rehearsals it was sad to say good-bye to something that was such a big part of her whole elementary, junior high and high school experience.

When she is not in class or running you can find Lorraine at home cuddling my dogs or hanging out with friends - exploring the city, eating out, going to concerts and festivals, or dancing to some cool jams. She loves to watch good films, and her favourite is Her.
