Marin Cislo
Year: 1

Marin Cislo is a 1st year Environmental Science Major - Biological Sciences Minor from Edmonton, Alberta. She chose her major because of her interest in the natural world. She would like to get a job where she is physically and mentally challenged and ideally can live up north or in interior BC.She describes herself as a pretty self-driven athlete, and says her biggest influence has been  her parents for fostering a love of being active and outdoors. She has been cross country skiing since she was 18 months old, and racing for about 5 years.

This year she hopes to continue to race at a national level, but also stay consistent in school and manage her time. Marin’s biggest moment as an athlete came in Whitehorse, Yukon for the 2016 Ski Nationals when she surprised herself with a 4th place finish in the 5km Individual Classic while skiing against older girls. “I guess the stars aligned,” she says.

When not in class, Marin loves racing, XC mountain biking, cyclocross, road cycling, trail running, hunting, and just being active outdoors!
