The Rookie of the Year Award is awarded to the outstanding male and female student-athletes who utilize their first year of eligibility as a member of an Augustana Varsity team and exhibit tremendous athletic accomplishment in the current year. Leadership, character and academics are also considered in the selection of the Rookie of the Year Awards.

"A former Basketball Alberta athlete Jessica Haenni was recruited by many schools in the ACAC but Augustana was her first choice. She is always the first one in the gym and the last one shooting when it's time to leave. Jessica leads her team with an insatiable love for the game and thirst to improve. Awarded rookie of the year in the ACAC North along with first-team all-star honors, Jessica has had a year to remember and is already hungry to grow for next season," said Head Coach, Robyn Fleckenstein, Vikings Women's Basketball
"Jessica made a real impact in her first year of Cross Country Running. She consistently was the second Augustana runner of four scoring runners. Jessica improved her 6 km race time by a remarkable 4 minutes over the course of the season and ran her best in the biggest races. She was 13th at ACAC championships and ran an outstanding time of 24:34 to help the women's team to a 9th place finish at CCAA nationals," remarked Gerhard Lotz, Head Coach, Vikings Cross Country Running

Congratulations Jessica!
