Vikings Women's Curling will be heading to Nationals in Fredericton, New Brunswick March 14 – 19. At Fall Regionals, the Vikings Women had a rocky road, going 2-4, and knowing that they would have to fight hard at Winter Regionals for a chance to make it to Conference Championships. That is exactly what they did, the Women played their last game of the round robin not knowing that if they won, they would play a tie breaker game against Olds College to see who would go on to compete for the Conference title. They walked off the ice with a win over Red Deer College and headed back out to win their tie breaker game giving them a spot.

Heading to the Conference Championship in Olds as the underdogs and in last place, the Vikings Women were determined to make it to the gold medal game. That is exactly what they did! Winning their first four games of the weekend they headed to the Championship game granting them a spot to Nationals. This brought great joy to the team as it was their goal at the beginning of the season to place first or second at Conference Championships. Not only did they take home silver medals, Katelyn Skolski won the All-Conference award in the Women's division for Lead.

The Vikings Mixed team did great this season. At both Fall and Winter Regionals, they kept a strong record of 4-1 each weekend. Heading into Championships, the team was excited for their opportunity to be there and were very happy to be able to share their experience together. Many skills were developed individually and as a team. The team was happy as Skip: Ally Hamilton, Third: Dustin Rupertus, and Lead: Jackson Sweder were all awarded All-Conference awards for the Mixed division.
Although are Men's teams' season was cut short after Winter Regionals. They had fun playing together and learning many new things. This was Colton Simard's last season as Augustana Viking, the 5th year Graduating Athlete and Computing Science major will be missed as he moves on to new adventures!
