Alcorn and Green breeze through the course, leading XC Vikings
After an early morning, the team arrived St. Mary's University in Calgary. Combined with rainy weather, the course held variable terrain, and made for a fun running challenge.

The ladies 6 km began at noon. Beating her first race time, Catherine Alcorn breezed through the course and led the ladies in, finishing strong with a time of 26:12. With a stellar first race of the season, Anne Mirejovsky followed, crushing the hills with confidence. In close competition throughout the race, Emily Lyseng, Kylie Peak, and Mia Spreen rounded out the ladies, pushing each other to the finish and each setting new PRs for the season.

The men's 8 km commenced at 1:00 pm. After duking it out with teammate Nathanael Tabert in the first 3 km, Michio Green pulled ahead, and in a flash of colour led in the men with a time of 29:54. Nathanial followed, improving on his race time from earlier this season. Using the flats to his advantage, Timothy Shapka improved his splits from last race. Jackson Sweder carried himself through the race with steady pacing, rounding out the men's race with a strong finish.

Come on out October 13, 2018 to cheer us on as we host Grand Prix 5 at the Stoney Creek Centre in Camrose!
