I am a fourth year English Major/ Art History Minor and libero for the women's volleyball team. I hope one day to become a writer and obtain a creative writing degree from UBC. I have been playing volleyball since I was in grade seven because when I was younger I wanted to do everything my older sisters did. As a result of wanting to be like my sisters, I followed them to Augustana where I became a member of the Viking Women's Volleyball team. Soon after my arrival at Augustana, both of my sisters moved away.
I have two amazing older sisters, Catherine and Nicole, who are both striving to work in the medical field. Catherine is finishing up the nursing program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Nicole has recently graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and hopes to become a doctor one day.They are both extraordinary women who I look up to in my life.
My parents are Bryan and Cindy Laskosky and they have been my support system from day one. They have inspired me to become a better person and to pursue my dreams. I would not have been able to make it through my university career without them.
I'm looking forward to this season because last year as a young team we were able to learn a lot and grow together. I think this year our team has a lot of potential and numerous talented athletes. We are capable of great things this year as long as we remain focused.
When I'm not in class I'm usually in the library studying or can be found laying in bed sleeping with my cat.
My favourite foods are cupcakes, waffles, and peanut butter.
